Locally designed and owned energy systems can provide several comparative advantages in Europe and beyond:
- it favors the access to energy for all (“the right to energy”) and inclusiveness,
- it fosters energy efficiency and saving (by not incentivising the production),
- it strengthens democracy and collaboration, instead of extractivism and energy colonialism.
In November, we participated to the European Commons Assembly where we presented our proposal “Energy as a commons“. Here is a short video that goes along with it:
